Hair Practice
Hello! Long time no see-!
Here's some stuff I've been up to lately.
I was practicing hair sculpting again, This time with a little more detail added in. Started out with a zsphere and slowly added details. The back hair still needs some love : ( I'm planning to put a clip at the back to make it hold the hair. I'm also going to focus this character on her clothes/fabric/accesories/hair/posing. I'm not focusing too much on anatomy for her since it wont be seen anyway. The fingers and toes will be fixed too!
(Her textures disappeared after using dynamesh and I hadn't realized till it was too late : ( - luckily I did just the face)

Demo Reel 2014
So I've been busy applying for jobs recently and haven't had much time to work on any personal projects.
However I did make a demoreel for applying-
Tada! " My Demoreel for the year "
I've only managed to pull through little by little with my other projects. Here's a screenshot of the viper I managed to squeeze through - It's also a paint over for the seat and I did have minor adjustments here on the front piece and the side mirrors-
That's all I have for now, I'll update more soon-!

Orellia - Almost there progress!
Hello! I'm back from my vacation and started working on my character again- Here's a few snaps of progress.
Started out testing out fiber mesh for the first time in zbrush- Look at it- doesn't that look like an awesome hair do?! I'd wear it- no, of course not-Zbrush Fibermesh Test |
After that I made did a quick paintover- I scrapped the tail and worked on trying to get the overall bob look for her hair- The hair colour I changed it to a darker brown to make her face pop out more- The blond made her face drown- I also made little changes to the skin and lips-

Orellia - Texture Progress
A little progress as to where I'm at- Almost everything is done- Almost because I'm still having trouble with the hair and had separated them into a new texture map- Added lighting and renders through Marmoset 2- It really is convenient and always makes everything look good- the reflectivity, lights and how its rendered real time! Amazing shiz if you ask me and it's affordable for the poor artist like myself- XD My only problem with it now is the shadows- Sometimes it would give me pixelated and jagged lines, Still reading up on how to get rid of em-
The progress above is the char without any specular- After some massive testing with the specular I managed to get it to this :-
Tada! Textures completed so far, Diffuse, AO, Normals, Specular- |
A little adjustment:-
Added loads of freckles/ pores to the other parts of the skin. I used a subtle scatter brush around the tummy area and the arms. The face was quite challenging, the lips took me an hour before I got the specular right-and many times she looked haggard because I had put too much detail at the bottom of her eyelids- Added leather and cloth specular to the clothes, mostly using textures online and de-saturating them- This is what I'm sticking to for the moment- until I'm done with the hair- I'll be updatig that soon! Till then-

Orellia Update
A little progress I've done on Orellia, I overhauled the design for her hair, with a hat and her belt- The design felt messy at the beginning. Finally after tweaking many many times I decided to go for this look. The textures are still halfway done. I still have to add the leather textures onto some parts of her accessories as well the clothes. The hair had a pasted on texture I found- It still needs to be tweaked but the shape and colour of it would be final- I'm still not entirely happy with the overall design, but it's definitely looking better than the one before so I'll be sticking to it. I added the wireframe to get some feedback. It's at 10k + tris, I know it could still be reduced but I'll have to finish up the textures first-
